Our PTSA helps enrich the academic experience of every student at Cherry Crest. We raise funds, volunteer at events, and help build a vibrant community that’s more than just a school.
In Bellevue School District, budget shortfalls are overcome with levies, grants and local fundraising. Cherry Crest PTSA provides approximately $200,000 annually to support Cherry Crest Elementary students, families and staff. We have talented teachers who rely on these funds to maintain the educational programs distinguishing Cherry Crest Elementary as the #1 Bellevue Elementary school and the #4 Elementary school in Washington.
Our goal is to raise $400 per student to continue this crucial aid.
What we fund
Students in different grades get to experience different author visits, read-a-louds, or small group writing workshops. This enables students to learn from local renowned authors, get feedback on their own writing, and develop a love of reading and writing. [All Grades] [Free]

The PTSA and School invite special guests to help further students’ learning like with ToyMaker where a former science teacher runs toy building workshops for students. Or Animal Encounters where live animals come to the school and students learn more about nature and biology, first-hand. [All Grades] [Free]

Essential school staff help students stay safe on the playground, at arrival and dismissal, help teachers get extra time for curriculum planning, help with small group work in the classroom, run administrative tasks for teachers and the head office, and act as mentors for students. The PTSA helps pay for additional adult supervision and school staff that benefits everyone at the school and in the community. [All Grades] [Free]

We maintain a neighbor to neighbor fund to help those who may not be able to pay for student experiences and the Yearbook. We also donate back to the Community and help fund the Bellevue Quality Schools and Bellevue School Foundation, both of which help put money and bring programs for free back to Cherry Crest
We award outstanding volunteers with the WA State PTA’s highest award, the Golden Acorn.
To run as a non profit PTSA we must register with the State, submit an annual report, have insurance to use the school facilities, and prepare annual taxes.
We maintain an online newsletter, PTSA website, School Directory, and payments platform to run the PTSA.
We have two large fundraisers this year:
- Fall Outdoor Movie Night Fundraiser
- Spring Walkathon
Every dollar counts – please donate by October 15th!
Please also remember to submit your donations for corporate matching if that is available to you.
For those who submit corporate matches of $300 or more, you’ll get a Cherry Crest blanket. We have a limited supply, so please submit early.
